Congratulations to Ben Fong!

We are delighted to share that Benjamin Fong will join Texas State University as an Assistant Professor of Global Cinema in the Department of English beginning in fall 2026. His research here at UC Davis in the Department of Comparative Literature explores modern Chinese picture cultures across illustrated fiction, lianhuanhua, film, and animation with particular attention to how images are adapted and circulated for domestic and Sino-American audiences. A Mellon Public Scholar, his work has appeared in the Journal of Chinese Film Studies and Arts. We congratulate him on this exciting achievement.
